This website has been set up to allow you to find out about Scottish poetry pamphlets. It has been made possible by funding from the Callum Macdonald Memorial Award, volunteers and the support of the The National Library of Scotland and the publishers listed.

Since pamphlets are not normally for sale in bookshops and seldom in libraries, they are difficult to discover and harder to buy. Our website is designed to overcome this problem by freely listing poetry pamphlets with a Scottish connection. For our purposes a pamphlet is defined as being of not less than 6 pages and not more than 36, excluding preliminaries.

Pamphlets for poetry are popular and practical. Please click on the link CMMA to find out about the annual Callum Macdonald Memorial Award to the publisher of a poetry pamphlet. Other associated events and benefits can be found by going to the Events Link.

You can browse from our list of poets and publishers by clicking on the links at the bottom of each page and also buy online.

Our success has changed attitudes and made pamphlets the top choice for poets. Why else are we asked to stage pamphlet poetry events at the Edinburgh International Book Festival each year and at other festivals including StAnza?

Our video, giving information and encouragement can also be bought online.

Thanks to the volunteers who maintain and administer this website.

Attitudes to pamphlets have changed and are now the first choice of many poets. Pamphlets are for those who seriously profess to be poets and feel a responsibility towards their readership. It is for us to decide and take responsibility rather than to wait for permission from the world of commercial publishing and public subsidy.
