Edinburgh International Book Festival 2008
We held a pamphlet fair and reading on the 15th August in the Party Pavilion at the Edinburgh International Book Festival.
Fifteen pamphleteers read at various intervals over the four hours and there was an ongoing stream
of visitors to hear the readings and browse the pamphlet stalls.
73 pamphlets were sold during the afternoon.
Salty Press organised a Renga - to read it, please click here.
A presentation of roses and a scrapbook of poems, memories and photos were presented to Tessa
who had celebrated her 70th birthday in July.
A very successful day. A mix of photos taken by Mike Knowles are shown below.

Pamphlet Fair
The fair was held in the Town hall on the Sunday afternoon. Although visitor numbers were down, everyone seemed to agree it was a great success and over 130 pamphlets were sold. There was an overall friendly and supportive atmosphere which stall holders and visitors commented on.

CHRISTMAS
POETRY PAMPHLET PARTY & FAIR
Yes, that's correct - you had to fight through the crowds at this year's fair. With 30 tables of pamphlets and over 150 visitors, the fair was a great success for poets and visitors. 135 Pamphlets were sold and over 100 postcards. The various readings were well received and contributed to the buzz and atmosphere. The bran tub raised £65 for the website.
Mike Knowles took lots of photos and I have put several together below.
The Edinburgh International Book Festival 2007
This proved to be a very successful, if not exhausting event. 24 poets read over 4 hours and more than 50 pamphlets were sold.
The general public dropped in throughout the day.
Even the young were hooked.

ONE POUND ANTIQUE PAMPHLET TABLE
Got any unsold poetry pamphlets stuffed on top of the wardrobe or piled under the stairs? Brush the dust off and bring them along. We will try to sell them for you at the give-away price of £1 a pamphlet. We say again - all pamphlets placed on the Antique Pamphlet Table will go at the knockdown price of £1. Think of the gains. You spread your publications to a wider public, ergo you become better known. It’s a nice little earner. It makes more room in the flat. Can’t lose.
You may wish to make a small donation to website based on sales.
StAnza Pamphlet Fair 19th March 2006
A market style fair was held in The Parliament Building, South Street, St Andrews, between 12.30 and 4.30pm during the popular StAnza International Poetry Festival.
We had 20 publishers displaying an eclectic collection of poetry pamphlets and sold over 200 pamphlets and in one publisher's case, generously gave away almost 50.
The hall was kept busy with visitors most of the afternoon and became very busy and buzzy immediately after other StAnza events. Alan Gay efficiently organised several reading spots when we were entertained and moved by both familiar and new faces.
In Tessa's opening speech, she explained that we are hoping to find funding to allow me to develop SPP further. Although, I am more than happy to continue with what I do now on a voluntary basis, I feel I could do more if I was financially able to spend extra time on promotion. I would particularly like to distribute pamphlets to other book festivals and perhaps organise other fairs.
Christmas 2005 Fair
The Pamphlet Fair took place on Wednesday 14th December 2005 and was the biggest so far, with 32 stalls and over 100 visitors.
